The Sangoma and powers we marvel about. Earlier Wendy blogged about meeting the Apple Woman and a deceased veterinarian called Leo. She thought she was going crazy but it expired that a friend had encounterd Leo as well. A meeting with a Sangoma in South Africa clarifies a lot. “Seemingly I could see ghosts and didn’t really understand why.”
On a star lit evening sitting around a campfire in South Africa the conversation with our guide got around to spiritual experiences and it felt quite natural to tell him about my seeing Leo after he had died. The following day we were to arrive in Zulu land and he suggested that if she had time I should speak to the tribe’s Sangoma. According to him she was well respected, and even Nelson Mandela was known to consult her.
Meeting the Sangoma
The following day in Zulu land during lunch, Jaques came to collect me. The Sangoma could see me right there and then! I left my lunch and went with him immediately, excited to meet her in a simple round shaped mud hut with a thatched roof.
The door stood wide open, she beckoned me to enter and after a welcome word she asked what my problem was. Feeling a little frustrated I explained that I didn’t have a problem, but seemingly I could see ghosts and didn’t really understand why.
A horses tail
She asked me to hold out my hands with the palms pointing upwards, she took what looked like a horses tail and swished it across my palms several times. She then stood back and stared. Suddenly she moved swiftly to the door and closed it. While still walking towards me she began: “You are are strong, so strong that you could move mountains, but you also have a problem and the one has to do with the other.” In awe I said nothing.
She continued “You have twelve guardian angels. I have never met anyone before with so many. You have six on your right side, one women stands in front of you and five others are on your left. They not only give you your strength, but are also the cause of your problem.” ‘What problem’ I asked. “You hate to be amongst large groups of people, you find it difficult to concentrate and your head buzzes with nervous energy”.
Wow
Wow I thought, how could she know that? She continued “They don’t mean to cause you this problem, but they love you so much they want to communicate with you at all times, and doing this while you are in a large group causes your brain to overload”. I have no idea why, but suddenly I asked her if the women in front of me was my beloved Grandmother who had passed away. She answered very softly. “ yes she is your grandmother, but you have never met her, she died before you were born”. The Sangoma closed her fists and explained that I was born with my fists tightly closed and when I opened them the angels surrounded me. She said that it was my fathers mother and that his father was also on my right side.
I explained to her that I knew nothing about this grandmother, not even her name. My father never talked about his childhood. She assured me that in the future I would discover more about her. Suddenly I realised that she must have been who I called the Apple Women. Always watching over me especially as I slept.
The Sangoma, what does she see?
The Sangoma was looking directly over my shoulders sometimes right and sometimes left and she seemed to be communicating with something or things which I could not see. According to her my angels were so sorry for all the things I had to endure during my childhood and especially my youth. They were there just to watch, but could not intervene. Apparently it was a test from God, which I passed with flying colours.
She asked if I remembered the period in my life when I started loosing a lot of my hair. I had put that firmly to the back of my mind, but as she spoke it seemed to all come back to me. According to her that was the moment I had passed my final exams, so to speak. And from that moment on my angels were allowed to help. Indeed that was exactly the time when I decided completely out of the blue to make the life changing decision to join the military police. They posted me to Germany where I met my Dutch husband of now almost 51 years, and eventually moved to the Netherlands where I still live a very happy and contented life.
Knowing about things never shared
This lady who I had never met before in my life, knew things about me which I had never shared with another human being. She stopped what she was saying for a moment and then came out with “you must stop with the dogs. I told her that I had stopped and she said that was a good thing as I was now to work with people. She paused again and repeated “you must stop with the dogs” Again I told her I had.
She looked totally confused, and then her face lit up. “How many do you have she asked”. “Four” “They find that too many” she said “ very soon they are going to take one from you, you will be able to keep three for a relatively short time, and after that you must never have more than two dogs again. It is now time to develop the gifts you have been given and to learn to help people with them”. “But I don’t like all people” I protested. “That’s not necessary “ she said. “Don’t worry, the right people will cross your path and it will happen naturally”.
The Sangoma is a wonderful woman
On departing this wonderful woman gave me a bag containing herbs and leaf’s and what looked like tree bark. On arrival back home I was to make a tea with this mixture and drink it everyday for one month. Somehow it would make it much easier for me to listen to what my angels were communicating to me.
One week later , the first thing I did on arrival at Amsterdam airport was to call my dog sitter. I was worried about Marquis. After all he was 11 years old and if it was true that they would take one of my dogs quickly, I presumed that would be him. Imagine how awful that would have been for Carla who was kind enough to care for them while we were away. Luckily Marquis was fine.
And so it came to pass
That same evening I was preparing dinner for my four canine friends, when Katinka (my very favourite 8 year old girl) sat, looked at me and sort of nodded her head. I lifted her up in my arms and remember telling I hoped she wasn’t going to leave me. After I put her back down, she ate her dinner with the rest and just put it out of my mind. The dogs went to lay down in their beds and I went to the kitchen and started preparing our meal. A strange feeling came over me, I knew I must check on Katinka. Straight away I saw she had passed peacefully away in her sleep. Just six months later they took Marquis. I was now left with two!!
Warm greetings,
Wendy
