Today, Mireille posts a quote about creativity: Make your dreams come true.
“In my garden there is a beautiful plane tree. In summer, this tree has a large leaf and on hot days it provides pleasant, cooling shade. I have two deck chairs under this plane tree. Lovely spot to take shelter from the sun on hot days.
I also love beautiful things
Like gemstones, for example. I currently have more gemstones than I can put to use in a nice presentable way. So I wondered how I could incorporate them into my home in a nice way. For a while I didn’t know how I was going to use them, I had no inspiration.
Until a few weeks ago, in the middle of the night, I thought of what I could do with my beautiful stones:
I should not incorporate them in my house, but in my garden.
I am turning the sycamore into “a tree of dreams”
At the moment, my plane tree has no leaves. So it’s an ideal time to make pendants that I can hang from the horizontal, wide-spreading branches.
I bought copper wire (different colours and thicknesses, because everything has to br tried out) and some pliers to work with.
The first attempts were quite a bit disappointing
The stones fell out of the knotted copper wire much faster than expected. My fingers also quickly turned out to hurt from working with the stiff wire.
Fortunately, I soon got the hang of it a bit
I finally got the stones firmly attached with the wire after a few more attempts. It worked faster and faster. I also got better at making nice round curls from the copper wire.
My youngest son also loves crafting and he gave me his bead box with all kinds of beads to use in the strands.
Meanwhile, 25 strands of gemstones are hanging in my sycamore
The strands are not perfect, but they are very nice, colourful and creative.
